Dear Diaspora,

Over the last six months two Norwegian documentaries, „Srebrenica: A City Betrayed“ and „Sarajevo Ricochet,“ have opened a new and historically significant epoch in the analysis of Srebrenica-related events of July 1995. These documentaries have succeeded in placing events which took place over a three day period in July of 1995 into a broader context encompassing the  whole war and they have shed new light on political tensions on the Muslim side. Research journalism and the courageous testimony of Muslim witnesses have opened an entirely new perspective on the events which contributed to the characterisation of the Serbian nation as genocidal, thus potentially delegitimizing the Serb entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meaning which was until recently almost without question attributed to these events also led directly to the bombing of Serbia in 1999, the loss of Kosovo, as well as to other events which have put honourable Serbs throughout the world on the defensive.

Anything that helps to clarify events in Srebrenica is of enormous importance to Serbs who are again facing one of those grave challenges that have been plentiful throughout their history, except that this time they have scant energy and resources to set their priorities and mount an effective response. These films, however, have shown clearly what one of those priorities should be: to get to the bottom of Srebrenica. Much of the derogatory rhetoric about Serbs today has its roots in the crime that was committed in Srebrenica.

These films have opened the eyes of many and as a result the public world-wide are beginning to understand that this often repeated and critically unexamined story is deficient in many respects. It is the duty of all honourable people to try to identify those deficiencies and to try to answer heretofore unasked questions. The basic issues are: What really happened in Srebrenica? How many people were there, how many lost their lives, and under what circumstances? Where is the evidence of their manner of death? A regular court would ask those questions as a matter of course and it would demand to see the relevant evidence. The Hague Tribunal, which is in fact judging the Serbian people collectively, did not require such evidence, nor did it even pose those questions.  But the time has come to do so and to demand answers.

We do not know in advance what the answers will be. There is no doubt that a crime has been committed and that every crime should be punished. But who planned that crime and why is still very much an open question. These films have given us a hint: Bosniak authorities refused to help their own people in the battle for Srebrenica although they were well informed about what was going on. Essentially, Srebrenica was a conflict involving 400 armed Serbs and 5,500 armed Muslims, many of whom subsequently gave statements  that they were instructed to abandon the enclave and not to put up a fight, while leaving their women, children, and elderly at the mercy of their enemies. That is a sad but very revealing story. It suggests a plan by the Muslim leadership to rid itself of the people of Srebrenica by sacrificing them. The Serbs, as it turns out, had more empathy for their women and children and with UN assistance they bussed them to safety. Many of them were given shelter in Serbia. That is an incontrovertible fact.  It is still unknown how many armed Muslims perished during the breakout through Serbian lines, just as there are no clear facts on who was responsible for ordering or carrying out the executions. On the other hand, it has emerged that some post-war Serb officials did have evidence that could have shed light on some of the issues but chose to keep it to themselves in return for being rewarded with political posts in the newly formed government structures. No one is entirely in the clear where Srebrenica is concerned, neither Serbs nor Bosnian Muslims. But as to reliable evidence, it is a case of muddied waters which has systematically disinformed both sides in the conflict, and even more so the international public. For that reason, it is critically important to get to the bottom of Srebrenica and to sort everything out. Both sets of authorities have their versions that they profit from, but the simple folk on both sides have suffered only detriments and are encouraged to indulge in hatred which post-war propaganda has done its best to foment and even increase. Such an atmosphere can only lead to another war. A new war would be just as destructive as the previous one, and the ordinary people on both sides would gain nothing from it. That is why, for the sake of victims on both sides, the truth must be allowed to emerge.

As a doctor I experienced the war, only not in Srebrenica but at some other locations where the blood of many ethnicities mixed in my hands. During the night, I wake up to the sound of distant mortars and bomb explosions, in my sleep I rush to assist the wounded, I observe their distorted faces writhing with pain and disbelief, while blood oozes from everywhere…All the victims give me pain and their misfortune is our common misfortune. It is the misfortune of all the nations at war. All nations have both victims and murderers in their ranks. For reconciliation to take place, all wrongdoers must be punished and all victims grieved over in equality. Truth must be known, whatever it may be. Lies augment the pain and prolong the agony of war. Only the mutual recognition of pain can reconcile erstwhile enemies, accompanied with simple human empathy and love. That is why I regard this struggle for the truth as our common struggle, the struggle of all nations and participants in this war, whatever side they may have been on. It is a struggle for the truth and for the future, for a life without manipulation and deceit.

Dear friends of all faiths and ethnicities, let us unite in the struggle for truth. Let us show respect the one for the other because after all the war cries and post-war propaganda, we simple people shall remain in our fields and in our devastated homes, and our paths will intersect as we cry at our cemeteries. We must strive to build a new life together. We must never allow what happened to be repeated.

I am a doctor, writer, and translator, and at the request of the film directors I translated several items for inclusion in the documentaries as a public service. Since they lack credible arguments, the opponewnts of these documentaries have been attacking me for days in Norwegian and Swedish newspapers.  I did not respond because I do not feel a need to argue with them. They do not concern me and I did not want to shift attention away from the films and to the personal level. The well organized Bosniam Muslim lobby in Norway has issued physical threats against me in an effort to force my silence and the matter will soon be considered by the judicial authorities. The police are pursuing it.

After the airing of the films, the Bosnian Muslim diaspora put on a great tumult. They are trying to arrest the unstoppable process of critical inquiry into what happened in Srebrenica and they think that only their mantra, which they have been reiterating for the last twenty years, is correct: Serbs are responsible for everything. All arguments running against that mantra are for them by definition pro-Serbian propaganda. But according to the logic of science new arguments must be considered and conclusions should always be reviewed in the light of new data. The massacre in Srebrenica has been declared to be the greatest crime in Europe after World War II. For that reason alone it demands a detailed and comprehensive analysis.

The Serbian diaspora and its friends in Sweden have responded to these synchronized attacks launched by Bosnian Muslims and their supporters by forming a group committed to discovering the truth. The goal of this group is to gather all who are concerned about what really happened in Srebrenica both before 1995 and in July of that year. The group’s name is  „Istina za sve! Sanning  åt alla! Truth for all!» and it has over 17,000 members. It is looking for more people from all over the world who share their concern and who wish to join. Let us go forward together in the struggle for the truth, wherever that may lead. Let us write in all the languages of the world, because the truth does not have just one natinality and it is not monolingual. The truth stands above every nation and it alone can lead to lasting peace. Pearls of the Balkans who are dispersed throughout the world, unite and may the truth be that thread which joins you together in love and peace.

Filip Filipi izdao novi singl, govori o duetu sa Cecom i Jeleni Karleusi

– Pre nekoliko meseci skoro svi srpski mediji pisali su o tvojoj saradnji sa Cecom. Kada će konačno biti ostvarena ta saradnja?

Ona je, očigledno, imala legalnih problema, ali za mene najveći problem trenutno predstavlja beat. Onaj koji sada imamo je neverovatan rep beat. To je verovatno najbolji rep beat godine. Ipak, to je i dalje rep beat i mislim da bi trebalo da, kada već sarađujem sa tako velikom zvezdom, napravim međunarodni hit, a ne rep hit. Trenutna situacija je da sam u kontaktu sa Viklefovim (Wyclef) ljudima, tako da će ili on promeniti trenutni beat ili napraviti potpuno novi. Želim da on bude uključen jer mi se sviđa humanitarni rad koji je uradio za Haiti i želeo bih da uradim nešto slično za Kosovo sa njim i Cecom. Nadam se da će ova pesma izaći pre Nove Godine.

– Takođe, čula sam da si veliki ”fan” Marijane Mateus i Jelene Karleuše? Zbog čega?

Hahaha, pa, ne znam baš mnogo o poznatima u Srbiji, ali pratim jedne novine iz Srbije na Twitter-u i video sam da je Jelena pitala svoje fanove na Twitter-u da li bi trebalo da ugradi još implanata ili da se hvalila o svojim novim implantima, tako nešto… Razumem da ona pokušava da privuče pažnju na nekakav američki način, ali čak ni ovde niko ne bi pitao svoje fanove da li bi trebalo da ugradi nove implante. Ne volim da sudim o drugima jer smo svi odgajani na drugačiji način i imali smo različita iskustva koja su nas oblikovala, ali ne verujem da bi ljudi sa ovakvim vrednostima trebalo da imaju pristup pozornici sa koje mogu da utiču na mlade. Siguran sam da, kada bi istraživanje bilo sprovedeno, ono bi pokazalo povezanost između implanata i niskog IQ-a i niskog IQ-a njihovih muževa/momaka.

Drugu damu je neko pomenuo kada smo pričali o kreatorima i pitao sam kako je ona dobila to čudno prezime. Očigledno, zadržala je prezime svog bivšeg supruga, nekog nemačkog fudbalera, a njen izvor prihoda je sklapanje takvih privremenih brakova sa retardima. Zašto nije zadržala prezime nijednog od svojih retardiranih srpskih bivših muževa? Da li je imati nemačko prezime nekakav statusni simbol u Srbiji. Kakvo društvo postoji u Srbiji, ako su ljudi sa ovakvim životima slavni?

Kao što rekoh, ne sudim ni o kome, ali mejnstrim kultura ne bi trebalo da bude oblikovana od strane ljudi koji očigledno imaju ozbiljne mentalne poremećaje.

– Ovoga puta na novom albumu naći će se i pesma sa Arianom Dvornik, rođakom Dina Dvornka. Kako je nastala ideja za taj duet?

Desilo se to da sam svom A&R-u (skaut za mlade talente, prim. prev.) da želim da uradim dens pesmu u evropskom stilu sa domaćim ženskim vokalom. Ideja je bila da se odmorimo od ostalih pesama koje su uglavnom sporijeg tempa i da uradimo nešto divlje što bi te nateralo da trčiš go u krug i konzumiraš droge. Ona je uradila fenomenalan posao i prevazišla je moja očekivanja. Takođe je kul to što ona živi u Čikagu tako da, ako poželimo da uradimo spot, to neće biti teško. Ona je iz Dalmacije, kao i moj otac; veliki pozdrav za Dalmaciju!

– Danas izlazi tvoj novi singl nakon godinu dana pauze. Kako bi ga opisao u par rečenica?

Pesma se zove “Big City Chaser”, a napravljena je u saradnji sa Mansions on the Moon. Oni su jedan od najpopularnijih novih bendova u Los Anđelesu i već su radili sa grupom N*E*R*D i Diplo-om. Pesma je hipsterska himna. Za otprilike dve nedelje idem u L.A. gde ćemo snimiti spot u režiji Stive Gerera (Steve Guerrero), koji je osvojio sedam Emija. Producent pesme je moj kineski brat, briljantni Džonatan Li (Johnathan Lee), a omot za singl je uradio čovek zadužen za moj imidž, veliki Marko Sejat.

Deutschlandreise des Papstes sucht der Vatikan die Stellung der
katholischen Rechten in der Bundesrepublik zu konsolidieren. In Rom
gehe „die Angst um“, in Deutschland könne „ein neuer Kulturkampf“
zwischen konservativ-katholischer Tradition und moderneren Kräften
entbrennen, berichtet der Theologe David Berger im Gespräch mit dieser
Redaktion. Der deutsche Papst wolle „gleich die ersten Ansätze
abwehren“ und habe seinen Aufenthalt in der Bundesrepublik daher vor
allem publikumswirksam geplant. Dem vatikanischen Ansinnen stellen
sich Bundesregierung und Bundestag zur Verfügung. Tatsächlich verfolgt
Benedikt XVI. laut Kritikern einen kirchenpolitischen Kurs, der eine
weitreichende Abkehr von der Moderne umfasst und sich sogar gegen die
Aufklärung wendet. Demnach stellten Kardinäle aus dem unmittelbaren
Umfeld Benedikts XVI. etwa die Evolutionstheorie in Frage. Untrennbar
mit der antimodernen Wende des deutschen Papstes verbunden sind
Anzeichen eines erneut wachsenden katholischen Antisemitismus, der in
der Annäherung des Vatikan an die Priesterbruderschaft St. Pius X. nur
einen extremen Ausdruck findet.
