Vidovdanski dani dijaspore i Srba u regionu 2009 je tradiconalan skup Srba iz rasejanja na kojem je i ove godine uèestvovao Srpski institut za javnu diplomatiju iz Brisela. U sklopu koferencije, 24. juna odr¾an je skup „Mediji iz dijaspore, mediji za dijasporu“ na kome su ucestvovali predstavnici trece sile iz cele srpske dijaspore. Glavna koferencija je odr¾ana 25. i 26. juna u Sava Centru i Privrednoj komori Srbije, kojoj su prisustvovali mnogi predstavnici na¹ih organizacija iz rasejanja, ali i brojni dr¾avni i lokalni funkcioneri, predstavnici Srpske pravoslavne crkve, Njegovo Kraljevsko Visoèanstvo Prestolonaslednik Aleksandar Karadjordjeviæ, èlanovi diplomatskog kora, novinari i privrednici.
Na konferenciji je diskutovano o „Platformi za izradu Nacionalne strategije razvoja odnosa matice i dijaspore i Srba u regionu“ Vlade Srbije, koja je takodje deo novog zakona o dijaspori, i reguli¹e odnose izmedju Republike Srbije i njene dijaspore.
Ministar za dijasporu, G-din Srdjan Sreækoviæ, je otvorio skup govoreæi o ovom novom pravnom propisu. „Usvajanjem zakona na jesen, Vidovdan æe biti proslavljan kao Dan dijaspore, ali i kao dan sabornosti dr¾ave Srbije“ naglasio je ministar. G-din Sreækoviæ je istakao da su ljudi iz dijaspore najbolji ambasadori Srbije u svetu, i da je glavni zadatak dr¾ave da se menja na bolje i da njena politika vodi ka su¹tinskoj promeni odnosa prema rasejanju.
Direktor Srpskog Instituta, Dr. Ana Milo¹eviæ, je u svom govoru na skupu istakla va¾nost nove nacionalne strategije za dijasporu. Ona je rekla da je jedan od najva¾nijih naèina za unapredjenje odnosa izmedju matice i njene dijaspore svakako intenzivnija saradnja i ukljuèivanje svih subjekata u jasno definisanu nacinalnu strategiju koja treba da ima za cilj umre¾avanje, osna¾ivanje i iskori¹æavanje potencijala srpske dijaspore u svetu. „Sa zakonom o dijaspori na¹e Ministarstvo za dijasporu je naèinilo dugo oèekivani korak ka pribli¾avanju nas Srba iz dijaspore matici“, rekla je direktorka Srpskog instituta. Dr. Milo¹eviæ je podvukla da su ljudi iz dijaspore godinama èekali jedan sna¾an signal iz Srbije i bratski poziv na saradnju. „Previ¹e se na¹e èeljadi rodilo pod tudjom zastavom. Dijasporu danas èini mladi ljudi, i oni su buduænost Srbije“, istakla je Dr. Ana Milo¹eviæ, ¹to je nai¹lo na veliko odobravanje od strane prisutnih.
Drugog dana konferencije odr¾an je Poslovni forum u Privrednoj komori Srbije na kojem se razgovaralo o kvalitetnijem povezivanju Srbije i njenih gradjana u rasejanju. Predsednik PKS-a G-din Milo¹ Bugarin je predstavio rad Poslovnog saveta za dijasporu u prethodnih ¹est meseci, a jedan od govornika na forumu je bila i direktorka Srpskog instituta za javnu diplomatiju, koja je odr¾ala prezentaciju na temu ekonomskog povezivanja Srbije sa njenom dijasporom.

“Vidovdan Days of Diaspora and Serbs in the Region 2009” is a traditional meeting of the Serbian expats, and the Serbian Institute for Public Diplomacy attended the conference this year as well. One part of the conference was the meeting “The Media from Diaspora, the Media for the Diaspora” held on June 24th, which was attended by people working in the media from the whole Serbian Diaspora. The main part of the conference was held on June 25th and 26th in the Sava Center and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and it was attended by many representatives of the Serbian Diaspora, numerous representatives of the state and local authorities, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, members of the diplomatic core, journalists, and businessmen.
The conference discussed the “Platform for the Conception of the National Strategy for the Development of the Relations between Serbia, its Diaspora, and Serbs in the Region” of the Government of Serbia, which is also a part of the new legislation on Diaspora, and it regulates the relationship between Serbia and its Diaspora.
The Minster of Diaspora, Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic, opened the conference with a speech about this new legislation. “With the adoption of this law in the fall, Vidovdan, June 28th, will be celebrated as the Day of Diaspora, and the day of unity for Serbia”, the minister said. Mr. Sreckovic pointed out that the people from the Diaspora are Serbia’s best ambassadors, and that the main task of the state is to facilitate change, and that its policies lead to a fundamental change of the country towards its Diaspora.
The Director of the Serbian Institute for Public Diplomacy, Dr. Ana Milosevic, stressed the importance of this new national strategy in her speech at the conference. She said that one of the most important ways for the improvement of the relationship between Serbia and its Diaspora is a more intense cooperation and the involvement of all entities into a clearly defined national strategy which should have as a goal more networking, and the strengthening and exploiting of the existing potentials of the Serbian Diaspora in the world. “With the new law on Diaspora, the Ministry has made the long-awaited step towards pulling the Serbs in Diaspora to their country,” the Director of the Serbian institute said. Dr. Milosevic especially pointed out that the people from the Diaspora have waited for years for a strong signal from Serbia and a brotherly call for cooperation. “Too many of our children were born under a foreign flag. The Diaspora today consists of young people, and they are the future of Serbia,” said Dr. Ana Milosevic, and her words were welcomed with significant approval by the present guests.
The Business Forum was held in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce on the second day of the conference. The topic was the improvement of the relations between Serbia and its citizens abroad. The President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Milos Bugarin presented the semi-yearly report on the Business Council for Diaspora, and one of the speakers at the forum was the Director of the Serbian Institute for Public Diplomacy, who held a presentation about the future economic relations of Serbia and its Diaspora.
